Review: Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

On the packaging:
‘This thoroughly cleansing masque may be used for normal to oily skin types to help eliminate debris and dead surface skin-cell accumulation that can clog pores and leaves skin dull-looking. With ingredients sourced from the Marajo Island at the mouth of the Amazonian River, this unique formula is rich in minerals and helps eliminate surface toxins from skin. Our deep cleansing masque helps to purify skin, leaving the appearance of pores minimized and skin refined.’

Directions:
‘Apply a thin layer to a damp, clean skin, avoiding the immediate eye area and allow to dry (approximately ten minutes). When dry, gently remove using a warm, wet towel and gently pat dry. Recommended for use once or twice a week’

My Experience:
When I bought it, I got a sample of Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser and Blue Herbal Moisturizer. Rumor has it that Andy Warhol was a fan of these products. Pretty amazing huh? I used the cleanser then I put on the mask.

In my opinion this mask has a creamy but watery consistency, is that even makes sense? It smells weird, but tolerable, a little bit goes a long way, so I think I’m going to have a hard time emptying the whole jar. It felt slightly tight after I put in on for 10-15 minutes. After rinsed that off, I noticed that my skin felt smoother, fresher, brighter, and cleaner. The pore-minimizing claim? After I used it, my pores became much smaller, but the effect didn’t last very long. Overall I don’t really recommend this product because I find some cheaper drugstore brands kind of did the same effect.

Price: Rp 300.000,-

PS: the Blue Herbal Moisturizer is amazing though! It moisturized without the oily effect. It just compeletely matte on my face, thumbs up! And I love to try the Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion. Has anyone tried it? Tell me what you think about it.
